Steve’s experiences as a charitable trustee for over 30 years with the Resources in Community Trust, for 16 years as a Grants Adviser with the Northamptonshire Community Foundation and for 5 years as Chair of Trustees with The McCarthy-Dixon Foundation have provided particular insights into how many local people and families are challenged by poverty, homelessness, the lack of decent housing, unemployment and low aspirations.
However, he is also well aware that there are many excellent local organisations and charities who are working in partnership to alleviate poverty, to confront injustice and to work towards the Common Good and an even-more flourishing Northamptonshire!
He combines his family commitments as an adoptive and birth parent with four children aged from 15 – 39 years alongside volunteer roles with The Friends of Northampton Racecourse, the Action for Happiness local group, the Friends of Bethany, with Abington Lawn Tennis Club and with local churches, but ensuring that there is still time to enjoy the countryside, go biking and to support the Saints and Cobblers!
