We're pleased to share that WNVP's Third Annual Parent Carer Survey is now
LIVE!
Our annual survey is one of the most important ways for us to hear directly from Parent Carers about their experiences and understand what is working well, what isn’t, and where we need to focus our work and influence.
This year’s survey
This year, we are exploring a few key areas in greater depth, including:
- Preparing for Adulthood
- Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS)
- Direct Payments / Personal Budgets
- Short Breaks
This means the survey may take a little longer to complete for some families. If you have experience of one or more of these areas, you will be asked some additional questions. If these areas aren't relevant to you, you won't be asked the additional questions.
We are also asking Parent Carers to think about their experiences within the previous 12 months.
More than one child?
We understand that your experiences can be very different for each child. Therefore, please complete a separate survey for each child with SEND that you have.
Who is the survey for?
The survey is for Parent Carers of Children and Young People with SEND aged 0–25 who live and/or attend a provision in West Northamptonshire.
Your responses will help us identify the issues that matter most to Parent Carers and inform the work we undertake throughout the year. We will share findings with our members, wider networks, and relevant local services, and with Ofsted & the Department for Education (DfE) during inspections of SEND services.

A little note about the timing of this year's survey
We know our annual survey is coming out a little later than in previous years, and we wanted to explain why.
When we would normally have shared the survey, there were already several West Northamptonshire surveys and consultations being sent to the SEND Parent Carer community. We were very mindful that Parent Carers were being asked to give their time and share their experiences across lots of different pieces of work, and we didn't want to add yet another survey into the mix at that time.
We therefore made the decision to wait a little, rather than risk survey fatigue and asking our community to repeatedly share the same experiences.

When you share your voice through these platforms, you're helping us bring your words straight into strategic meetings/workstreams. Together, we can influence, shape, and make positive changes for all children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in West Northamptonshire.

We will try to keep previous opportunities archived here and updated as to how, where and when your voices have been fed back at strategic level.
