Nichola Court

Parent Carer Representative

Biography

Hi, I’m Nichola. I am a proud parent of two autistic children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). After seeing both of my children struggle within the school system, I had to learn to navigate the complex world of SEND very quickly.

Prior to this, I spent 17 years working in the NHS. My career spanned working as a dental nurse in the Community Dental Service to working in Learning Development, where I supported learners through their clinical apprenticeships. The transferable skills I gained in the NHS—such as navigating complex systems, mentorship, and clear communication—put me in a strong position to advocate effectively for my own children.

I joined the West Northants SEND Parent Carer Forum to help support other families as they navigate these same challenges. My goal is to be a strong voice for families who may feel unheard, and to empower parents with the knowledge and confidence they need to advocate for their children.

Outside of my volunteer work and family life, I enjoy recharging by spending time with friends and family, walking, going to the gym, and cooking.
